Jun 01, 2021
To our team of filmmaking professionals, a WMM membership sounds like a no-brainer. The Lab Pipeline
alone is such a development boon for filmmakers in any stage of cultivating a project. Or is it our incomparable production insurance service
that draws our community in? Actually, maybe it's our ever expanding menu of production services
, or our constantly updated educational content? Or...
In short, if you are an indie filmmaker or content creator looking to create on your own terms, We Make Movies
is the outfit for you. Whether you are looking for a community to foster your ideas, bolster your confidence, or provide you with a critical lens on your material, WMM is here for it. If you have a DIY spirit and are on an economical budget, we are here to help you solve your problems. If you are looking for a place that will give you the opportunity to make the movie that you want to see, it behooves you to become a member
What Level of Membership Is For You?
Our Silver membership
affords you access to our Members Only message board (through website) as well as the Members Only Facebook group, our Smartphone Studio tutorials, and our WMM Standard Library of filmmaking webinars, courses, and educational resources (updated constantly). Silver members are also given priority in the casting process for the Writers Labs, are eligible to submit to and vote on all Rolling Production Fund film Challenges, and are offered one free submission to the WMM International Film Festival annually. Perhaps most enticing of all though, is the access to deep discounts on already affordable production insurance
resources, as well as a 10% discount
on all WMM production services
. We have found that our Silver Membership is suited best for those primarily interested in the educational aspects of our collective.
are intended for filmmaking professionals who wish to take advantage of our production and insurance services, and who plan to submit to our challenges and competitions. In addition to all the benefits Silver members enjoy, Gold members are able to access the full library
of premium educational content, utilize a 20% discount
on all WMM production services
, and are granted four free script submissions
to the Writers Lab each year. To sweeten the deal, two Gold Members may pair up and have up to a 30-page script be read at a Writers Lab (rather than the 15-page limit on usual script readings). Our most engaged members will tell you they revel in the perks they receive from their memberships, and that enrollment is largely responsible for the execution and follow through on their respective projects.
It's pretty simple. If you haven't heard, we are hosting the unprecedented MAKE YOUR FEATURE Competition
alongside investors from Silicon Valley, in which we will grant at least two filmmakers $25,000 (and a plethora of production and marketing
resources and services) to make their micro-budget feature film. One has to be a member to submit so WMM is also doing something else we have not done before. We are introducing an annual membership
(at a reduced rate) to both our Silver and Gold levels during the summer months of 2021. Beginning June 1st
, anyone not currently a member is required to sign up for an annual membership to be eligible to submit to the competition. This exclusive deal will end in August, once the submission period for the competition closes.
We think our membership speaks for itself, but we'll let you join and let us know what you think. If you are sitting on a gem of a feature film that we can help you make, we truly hope you will join us so you can be in the running
to make the movie you want to see.
