SUBMISSION FORM FOR CASTING LAB WITH EMILY COOK

Join us for an interactive event with casting director, Emily Cook designed to demystify the casting process from a producer’s perspective. We’ll kick things off with a candid conversation about what goes into casting the right talent—from audition prep to final decisions.

Then, we’ll move into a live mock Producer’s Session, where actors will perform the sides and receive real-time redirection from casting. Attendees will observe from the “producers’ table,” getting a front-row view into what stands out in the room and why.

Emily will walk us through the process and guide us on how to obtain a dynamic audition from both sides of the table. We’ll wrap with an open discussion so you can ask questions, share takeaways, and connect with fellow creatives.

We'll be using sides from a real upcoming indie feature film called THE TWINK MURDERS by Michael R. Barnard.

BREAKDOWN FOR THE MOCK AUDITION:

[JOHN KELLY] Male, 39, Caucasian. Tall and slim, he's a rural truck driver, a "good ol' boy" defined by his hard work. He learns his teenage son, whom he threw out for being gay, might have been the victim of a serial killer. Guilt-ridden, he goes to Hollywood to search for his son, not knowing if the boy is dead or alive, and ends up relying on the gays he thought he was supposed to hate.
