Performance Lab
This night gives you the opportunity to show the community a more polished version of your craft. We love seeing scenes, monologues, songs, stand-up, improv -- basically anything without a script in hand! Your collaborators don't need to be a WMM member to participate.
Actors, we encourage you to showcase characters and elements of their talent that go deeper than typecasting.
Writers, this is a night where you can see how your staging and action comes to life.
Directors, use this lab as a working rehearsal for upcoming projects, to save time and money on set.
We highly encourage actors to team up with WMM writers and directors to simulate the collaboration that happens when a project is going into production.
Please note that for our in-person Mixtapes, we prioritize pieces that are either going into production, simulate the filmmaking process and/or are in some way directly related to making a movie.
WHEN: L.A., our flagship region, hosts a dedicated virtual Performance Lab every 6 weeks or so. We also have monthly Performance slots for our in-person Lab Mixtapes in LA and New York. Check out our full calendar to make a note of the next Performance Lab date!
WHERE: Either in-person for our L.A. Lab Mixtape at The Broadwater Theatre in Los Angeles, in-person for our NYC Lab Mixtape at Chain Theatre in New York, or virtually via Zoom from anywhere in the world!
