By signing up for or attending a We Make Movies (WMM) event, you agree to abide by the following guidelines. These policies are designed to foster a safe, collaborative, and professional environment for all participants.

Ownership and Responsibility

  • We Make Movies does not own or take responsibility for any work screened, performed, or discussed at its events.
  • Filmmakers and creators maintain full ownership of their work and are solely responsible for its content and any associated rights or liabilities.

Filmmaker Bill of Rights

  • WMM proudly supports creative freedom. Please refer to the Filmmaker Bill of Rights for more details on the principles we uphold.

Liability

  • By participating in WMM events, you agree that WMM, its organizers, and affiliates cannot be held liable for any disputes, claims, or damages arising from your participation.

    FeedbackĀ 

  • By presenting your work at a WMM event, you agree to receive constructive feedback during the event. No additional obligations or commitments are required from either filmmakers or attendees beyond the event itself.

Collaboration Etiquette

  • While WMM encourages collaboration and networking, please obtain explicit permission before contacting or sharing information with filmmakers or other community members outside of the event.

    Employment Disclaimer

  • Participation in WMM events does not guarantee employment opportunities on internal WMM productions or externally owned community projects.

    Networking Guidelines

  • Networking is an important part of WMM events. However, please respect personal and professional boundaries. Be mindful of the frequency and manner of your outreach to avoid overwhelming others.

    Conduct and Professionalism

  • Threats of self-harm, physical violence, or emotional abuse directed toward WMM team members or the community will result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the group.
  • Sexual harassment or any form of discriminatory or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
  • WMM encourages a positive, supportive atmosphere. Negative behavior, including aggressive self-promotion or unprofessional conduct, may affect your standing in the community.

Decision-Making Authority

  • WMM reserves the right to suspend or ban any member for violating these community guidelines or engaging in behavior that endangers others or disrupts the community.

Feedback and Concerns

  • For any concerns, questions, or suggestions related to WMM events or procedures, please email [email protected]. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner, though WMM is not obligated to act on all feedback received.

Respect and Inclusion

  • WMM is committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment. Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected status will not be tolerated.

Safety and Well-Being

  • If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please alert the event organizers or contact emergency services.
  • WMM is not equipped to provide mental health support but encourages those in need to seek help from qualified professionals.

Confidentiality

  • Respect the confidentiality of discussions, works-in-progress, and personal information shared during WMM events. Do not record or distribute materials without explicit consent.
