DCP CREATION
WMM can help you create an extremely affordable and quick, DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for your festival run or theatrical screening.
A DCP is about as close as you can get to the quality of a 35mm film print (except at a fraction of the cost.) Your film is encoded frame by frame in JPEG-2000 format and then each element of the film is stored in a separate folder on the DCP. This high quality format has become the universal standard for about 90% of theaters around the world. This is a deliverable that most Oscar Qualifying Film Festivals will require for exhibition.
WHY USE A DCP:
- DCPs ensure a superior image in a very reliable and durable state (no deterioration from the 1st screening to 100th)
- Individual folders allow for easy updating (subtitles or dubbing can be designated for different regions)
- They can be encrypted to prevent tampering or illegal screenings
