Hey Guys… Sam Here… it took a couple weeks, but I finally found a rational, reasonable review of FCPX that isn’t overly long, and I think accurately takes in its strengths and weaknesses, and what it should/shouldn’t be used for. Basically, it’s the review I would have written if I was a better technical writer, and didn’t spend half the time ranting about all the close minded editors who have been slamming the program without even trying it or trying to understand it.
Bottom line is that FCPX is a Corvette on training wheels. It’s not right for every workflow, but for the ones it is right for, it is the fastest thing you will ever use.
Anyway, whether you like it or not, FCPX is the future, and is a very good tool for many things… this review is about as good an overview as I’ve found about it. Take a look for yourself and draw your own conclusions:
