Fight for the studios? maybe?

I won’t go into the details but here is a link to an interesting article by Ryan Sullivan titled “The Rental Epidemic of The Twenty-First Century: A Look at How Netflix and Redbox Are Damaging The Hollywood Film Industry and How To Stop It

The argument is that studios need protection. I think there are many entertainment professionals that will disagree, I also think that this type of protectionism is 1) bad for the overall entertainment industry – it justifies a “too big to fail theory” – and 2) if pursued will be detrimental to where technology is taking movie / television production.

I’m not a big believer in our large corporate entities are failing due to outdated business practices and lack of legal protection. I am a firm believer in if your company is tanking 1. find another way, or 2. maybe its time to go.

Lets see what happens…
